Raniganj Girls' College was established on 9th November 1980. As per therecords of the college teaching of Hindi as a General Subjectstarted from the year 1980.Honours in Hindi started in 2006. From 2016,CBCS was introduced for BA Honours and Programme in Hindi. Dr. Anita Mishrajoined in Hindi department as a lecturer in January 1997. She is holding thepost of Associate Professor of Hindi since 2009. Dr. Jagmohan Singh joined as anAssistant Professor of Hindi in December 2016 and Smt. Neelam MishraTiwari joined as a SACT in August 2006.Three SACTs are also teachingHindi.

Teaching-Learning:

1. The Department aims to provide better qualityhigher education to students.
2. Apart from the general curriculum the departmentorganises seminars, workshops, special lectures and educational tours for thestudents.
3. Students participate in other activities too likeClass Seminars, Exhibitions, publication of Departmental Wall Magazine (“Wagdhara”)etc. They are encouraged to participate in cultural programs and competitions, quizzes,debates and sports events both inside and outside the college thus evokingtheir creative interests.
4. Projectors, Smartboards are used to display PowerPoints,Videos and Movies for enhanced learning.

Student Progression:

1. 40% of our students are going for higher educationafter their Undergraduate degree.
2. In the past few years two of our students (PriyankaSingh and Puja Jha) have qualified NET. Some of our students also joined Bank, Railways,School service, CRPF, Bihar Police. Some students are also working in theprivate sectors.

Social Interaction:

1. Through Educational tours we are developingstudents’ cultural knowledge and consciousness about Nature and environment.
2. Participation in NSS, NCC and community service isheartily encouraged by our department.
3. We are spreading the message of Women Empowermentthrough the education provided in our college.
